Is your liner still protecting
your pool structure?
Swimming pool liners have a maximum life of 10 years. Over time the plastimers in the vinyl become brittle, exposing your liner to possible failure. You don’t want to wait until you experience a failure to replace the liner.
If you lose 1” of water from your 18’x36’ pool every week, that calculates to 400 gallons of water. If this goes on all summer, that’s nearly 10,000 gallons that is undermining the ground supporting the pool.
Although the above scenario sounds dramatic, it’s still not as destructive as an instant failure when a large tear allows thousands of gallons to escape in an instant.
Waterfront Spa & Pool offers both 20 and 27 mil liners, although recommends the 20 mil thickness if you are expecting the liner to last 10 years. 27 mil liners lose elasticity early and are recommended to be replaced every 6-7 years.
